The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) announced that Ernie Blom was re-elected as WFDB president for a third consecutive term while Israel Diamond Exchange President Yoram Dvash was named vice president.

The decision was made by the bourse’s executive committee at the recent 37th World Diamond Congress in Dubai.

Rony Unterman will continue with his position as secretary general while a new treasurer general, Bharat Diamond Bourse Vice-President Mehul Shah, was elected to replace Dieter Hahn. Rounding up the board members are Rami Baron, Julien Drybooms, Anoop Mehta, Lin Qiang, Alex Popov, Reuven Kaufman, Nikhil Jhaveri and Peter Meeus.

In addition, Michel Schonfeld was named deputy secretary general while Julien Drybooms was appointed deputy treasurer general and was also made honorary life vice president. WFDB also announced the election of Louise Prior as executive director.

The WFDB presented the Diamantaire of the Year award to Willy Rotti while special awards in recognition of their long-standing service to the WFDB and the diamond industry were made to Hahn, and to Harry Levy, former president of the London Diamond Bourse.
