These Halloween Wedding Accessories are Chic AF

When it comes to wedding accessories, we’ve seen it all. From the more feminine and subtle (pearl earrings, diamond studs), to boho (flower crowns) to trendy (tasseled earrings, statement necklaces), there are infinite possibilities when it comes to choosing your day-of accessories. So what’s a gal to do when she throws a Halloween wedding? Step one, don’t be scared. Because the idea of Halloween and wedding thrown together in the same sentence, we know, is a little intimidating. Step two, read this article. Which you’re already doing so good on you!

Whenever a wedding is centered or themed around a particular holiday, there’s always the potential that things can go very ugly, tacky, or just plain wrong, very, very, quickly. We’ve seen far too many weddings die a kitsch-infused death because there were one too many black and orange tablescapes (Halloween)/fur trimmed decorations (Christmas)/or Turkey place card holders—and by one too many we mean even one is one too many when talking about any of those scenarios. So maybe we should start by expressing what you shouldn’t choose as accessories for a Halloween wedding.

A) Do not choose anything that you think your Great Aunt Gertrude may wear during the days surrounding Halloween (no offense to your Great Aunt, but you get what we mean). This means no candy corn “statement” earrings.

B) Think outside the box. Although there are some accessories that may be perfect, cool, AND just what you would expect someone would wear on Halloween, most of the time when it comes to themes, hitting the nail too hard on the head is kind of the opposite of cool. AKA, maybe try a vintage gold serpent ring in lieu of cobweb earrings featuring a dangling spider.

C) Don’t be scared that you’re straying from tradition. Sure, maybe your Grandmother won’t be thrilled to see you’re not wearing the pearls she wore on her wedding day, but you should feel like yourself! And if a a necklace covered in dainty gold bugs is something you’d feel more comfortable wearing than pearls, then you do you.
