The first edition of the Shunde Jewellery Design Competition is now accepting entries. Jointly organised by the Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China and the Shunde Jewelry Chamber of Commerce, the contest serves as a platform for aspiring designers to share their creative ideas.
The competition is open to all designers, based in or outside of China. The deadline for the submission of entries is September 2016, according to a Citygf.com report. The competition is divided into two categories: The Creative Group and the Bespoke Group. The former also includes a 3-D Design sub-group.
The awards ceremony will be held in the Shunde District of Guangdong Province.
The contest is based on the Lunjiao Sub-district (Shunde District) Jewellery Design Competition, which had been held for four consecutive years previously, according to the report.
“We hope to enhance the competitiveness of Shunde’s jewellery industry through this competition, and contribute to Shunde’s development into China’s jewellery design hub,” Li Jiesheng, CEO of the Shunde Jewelry Chamber of Commerce, was quoted as saying.
