Hong Kong-based jeweller Wallace Chan will showcase his one-of-a-kind creations at the European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) scheduled for March 11 to 20 in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Chan will mark his Maastricht debut with his exhibition, “Dream Light Water,” which was unveiled in Hong Kong last November, Forbes.com reported.
First held in 1988, the annual TEFAF is considered to be one of the world’s leading art fairs, featuring contemporary works as well as antique treasures with a very strict vetting process.
This year, 275 galleries from 20 countries will be exhibiting, with the majority offering classical works, the report added.
Renowned for his “Wallace Cut” technique and exquisitely carved jewels, Chan grew up in Hong Kong and was trained in sculpture before turning his attention to bespoke jewellery. His new book Wallace Chan: Dream Light Water, which contains photographs of 86 of his sculptural jewels in their actual size, was published in January in the US by Rizzoli.
