Jewellers are offering special Lunar New Year jewellery collections inspired by the Year of the Rooster. These collections, which feature charms, bracelets and necklaces, pay homage to Chinese cultural elements and tradition.
US jewellery brand David Yurman recently unveiled its Lunar New Year collection, which includes pieces adorned with red gemstones such as rubies and garnets, according to a report on Jing Daily. Headlining this collection is the Guilin Rooster Charm in 18-karat gold, embellished with facetted rubies. The collection also includes garnet rings, bracelets and necklaces.
Louis Vuitton, meanwhile, launched the Vuittonite pendant necklace, featuring a rooster whose design plays upon iconic Louis Vuitton details, including corners and studs referencing its historic trunks.
The “Diorelita” bracelet from Christian Dior is another tribute to the rooster, the report said. The bracelet, which has a gold-tone finish, features a white resin bead and red lacquer – two symbolic colours in the Chinese culture, the report said.
