One thing you should never forget to do, especially with the amount of makeup used for D-Day, is to remove it all once all the ceremonies are done. Though it might be the last thing on your mind that night, it is essential that you do get all of it out. You want to extend the wedding glow to your honeymoon too, don’t you? Here are some tips on how to wipe it away and cleanse your face.

Makeup removal kit
Ensure you keep all that you need to remove makeup in your overnight bag you carry for that night. Keep travel-sized bottles with the oils and creams, enough cotton balls, tissues, toner, face wash, and hand towel. Don’t use the hotel soap to remove the make-up!

Petroleum jelly
With the many benefits and other beauty hacks it helps with, petroleum jelly is a good eye makeup remover. Apply a thin layer of it over your lashes and lids. With a tissue or a damp cloth, wipe it away. The makeup will come off with the jelly. The jelly is believed to strengthen the eyelids and protect the lashes. It also helps moisturise. Don’t scrub too hard as scrubbing tends to break lashes.

Baby oil
This pure mineral oil is good to remove makeup. Rub some over your face, taking care to rub it over the eye lids and lashes. The oil loosens the makeup which you can then just wipe off with a damp cloth or tissue paper. Though, remember to use a proper cleanser that suits your face to remove all traces of the oil. Leaving the baby oil just as is causes breakouts and could clog pores.

Cold cream
You can also use cold cream to remove makeup. Apply it all over the face including lips, eyes and brows. Wipe off with a tissue or a wet cloth. Don’t forget to wash your face with a suitable face wash.

Toner
Many forget to use a toner after removing the makeup with oils and cleansers. A toner removes the dust, pollution, and impurities that can still be lingering after cleaning off the makeup. Use it after you have wiped off the makeup and washed your face with the face wash. Saturate two cotton pads with the toner and apply the toner on your face and neck. You can make a honey-chamomile toner at home. Pour 1 cup freshly boiled water into a mug or heatproof container over 1 bag of chamomile tea. Allow the tea to steep, for ten minutes. Remove tea bag from the liquid. Add 1 teaspoon honey and 2-6 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to it, and then stir well to dissolve the honey. Pour the mixture into a clean bottle. You can also use any of these natural toners.
