ewellery designers are encouraged to submit their finest work to the 2016 edition of the JMA International Jewelry Design Competition.

Organised by the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association (HKJMA) and Hong Kong Jewelry Express, the 2016 competition centres on the theme “Unity,” which can hold multifold meanings: The harmony of different shapes and forms in a work of art; the combination of materials and craftsmanship that creates a magnificent piece of jewellery; or the symbolic meaning of people from all walks of life coming together to make the world a better place.

All entries have to be submitted on or before May 31.

The competition is divided into the Open Group and Computer-Aided Design Group. The first phase of judging will take place in early June, during which 15 shortlisted participants will be selected from each group. The final stage will take place on September 16 during the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. A judging panel will then select the Champion and three Merits awardees from each group. The official results will be revealed at an awards presentation scheduled during the Hong Kong International Jewelry Manufacturers’ Show in November.
