SEATTLE – Summer is a time for children to play outside, but it can be a tough for kids who don’t have a good pair of shoes.
That’s why local charities are teaming with Skechers to help to make sure there is a shoe on every child’s foot.
The shoes, known as ‘Bobs’, are part of a worldwide program to bring shoes to children who might not have any.
Hundreds of kids with the Boys and Girls Club of Seattle got to customize their new shoes with paint this week in South Seattle.
“It’s like rabbits when they were trying to get to the moon,” said Ezekiel, one of the kids. “My mom is going to be so surprised.”
Skechers says they will donate more than 12,000 pairs of shoes locally. The West Coast footwear company hopes to donate at least 14 million pairs around the world.
