An autorickshaw driver was felicitated after he handed over a bag containing jewellery worth Rs. 10 lakh to the police, who, in turn, passed it on to the passenger concerned in just a matter of hours on Friday.
Raghu brought the bag intact to the Balajinagar police station, saying that a passenger forgot his bag in his autorickshaw. The bag belongs to one Gunapati Murahari Reddy, who arrived from Hyderabad this morning and got into the auto to visit his friend’s house at Pundarikakshayya street before going to his home place, Gudur.
SP Vishal Gunni appreciated the auto driver’s honesty and felicitated him. Raghu was presented with Rs. 5,000 cash reward.
