Tall boots walked all over the autumn 2016 runways. One of the most memorable pairs came from Vetements’ Demna Gvasalia: a supple leather, over-the-knee style with a hand-painted heart-and-flower/love-and-hate motif reminiscent of the logos of rock band Guns N’ Roses (perfect for a walk in the “November Rain”).

They weren’t all as extreme as Gvasalia’s version. But whether up to your knees or thigh-high, whether the heel was chunky or stiletto, platform or wedge, the concept was clear: long boots were the look for the upcoming season.
