SAMA 2017: The Fashion: Bonang Matheba

Fashion has become synonymous with events like the South African Music Awards, with local and international designers showing off on the red carpet.

SAMAs host Somizi Mhlongo planned his outfit months in advance and even ordered a pair of Christian Louboutin boots for one of his outfits.

The flamboyant media personality didn’t disappoint and had social media abuzz with his choice of wardrobe as he hit the SAMA23 stage.

Co-host Tumi Morake was also lauded for her choice of clothes in the night.

But let’s talk about Kanyi Mbau.

While there was mixed reaction to her very raunchy dress, the twitterverse agreed that the attention seeker succeeded in doing just that – making heads turn.

While her dress was clearly very expensive, she could at least have covered up her nipples.

Then there was the queen of the red carpet, Bonang Matheba, who might have just sported her best outfit yet!

Queen B stepped out in a red gown fit for a queen, and was widely praised for her stylish look.

Quantico actress Pearl Thusi took along her daughter to the event.

Wearing a skin-coloured cut-out design with metallic accents, she showed just enough skin.

Here are some pics of the fashion faux pas as well as the glamour from the SAMA red carpet.
