While she may have been the face of many beauty campaigns in the past for a plethora of brands, including St Tropez, Kerastase and Calvin Klein fragrance, Kate Moss has put her name to very few products. In fact, except for a limited lipstick offering with Rimmel last year to mark the brand’s 15th anniversary, the model has rarely delved into creating the products.
This month though, Moss has unveiled her debut palette with luxury Japanese brand, Decorté. Comprised of wearable taupe and brown eyeshadows and rich berry and classic red lip shades, it’s clear that Moss has put a lot of herself into the colour selections within the palette.
“I chose shades that work for every day but added richer colors to give you the option to go for a stronger look,” she told Harper’s Bazaar US. “I love the semi-matte texture of the lip quad, it lasts all day whilst conditioning your lips too.”
The palette accompanies several of Moss’ favourite Decorté products, including a liquid liner and a brow pencil, and comes in a handy black quilted pouch. It’s currently being stocked exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York for £154.72. While the the department store usually ships to the UK, this particular product isn’t available, so you’ll need to add it to your shopping list when you’re in the States.
But is it worth the flight? If Decorté’s reputation is anything to go by, then yes. For those not au fait with the Japanese beauty brand, it employs ancient Eastern medicine with the latest technology with its skincare and make-up offerings. It is owned by the umbrella brand, Kose, and was founded in the 70s. In 2010, Kate Moss became the face of the brand and the relationship has blossomed ever since.
Could this palette be the start of a bigger make-up offering from Moss? If her collaboration with Rimmel is anything to go by, it’s unlikely, but it’ll be interesting to see how successful it is…
