HRD Antwerp signed separate agreements with two Shenzhen-based organisations in a bid to further fortify its business in China, the company announced recently.
HRD Antwerp inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Shenzhen Jewelry Designers Association (SJDA), which stipulates the provision of advanced jewellery design courses by HRD Antwerp.
The Belgium-based company will organise its advanced 10-day jewellery design course for SJDA thrice a year. The trainings will be held in Belgium and Shenzhen. A pilot class is scheduled for August 30 in Antwerp.
Through this exchange programme, Chinese designers will have the opportunity to experience Europe’s cultural heritage and learn all about Western jewellery design trends and production techniques, noted HRD Antwerp.
Li An Xin, general secretary of SJDA, commented, “We believe that the advanced jewellery design course is a good match with our strategic goal, which is to maximise the value of original design in mainland China.”
Peter Macken, CEO of HRD Antwerp, said, “Our education department offers worldwide courses in diamond grading, gemmology as well as contemporary diamond jewellery design on an international platform.”
HRD Antwerp also signed a separate MoU with the Shenzhen Senior Technical Institute (SSTI), grantingSSTI the exclusive right to organise HRD Antwerp’s Certified Diamond Grader course in the Guangdong Province.
