Well-loved diamond and coloured gemstone jewellery are the star attractions of Sotheby’s sale of Important Jewels scheduled for September 22 in New York.
According to the auction house, the sale is headlined by a vast selection of signed jewels from a variety of celebrated designers and major jewellery houses such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels to David Webb, among others.
The top lot is a classic diamond ring featuring a 27.35-carat oval-shaped gem with a pre-sale estimate of US$2 million to US$2.5 million. Another highlight of the sale is a fancy intense yellow diamond ring in platinum and gold with white diamond accents, which is valued at US$675,000 to US$775,000.
Sotheby’s is also offering coloured gemstone jewellery during the sale, which is the first of the fall auction season.
“Whether you are seeking bold gold looks for daytime or diamond-set dazzlers for the evening, the Important Jewels sale will ensure your fall gets off to a fashion-forward start,” the company said.
