A rare Argyle red diamond, along with other premium gemstones, will go under the hammer in Taipei, Taiwan on May 1.
The auction will be conducted by gemstone expert Richard Li.
Among the gemstones and jewellery pieces on offer is a 0.51-carat fancy red rectangular diamond from Australia’s Argyle diamond mine, with a starting price of US$303,000.
Other highlights of the auction include a pair of 18-karat gold and diamond earrings, set with two Burman pigeon’s blood cushion-cut rubies weighing 2.01 carats and 1.92 carats, an 18-karat white gold and diamond ring, set with a 5.17-carat Kashmir sapphire, and a Van Cleef & Arpels gold powder compact once owned by former Queen of Iran Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiari.
