European jeweller Freywille is showcasing a fine jewellery collection inspired by renowned painter Gustav Klimt in its Hong Kong boutique from July to August. The exhibit is in celebration of Klimt’s 155th birthday.
The Hommage à Gustav Klimt Collection features jewellery pieces such as rings, pendants and earrings in fire enamel and 18-karat solid gold, according to the South China Morning Post.
The collection pays homage to Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, one of the most prominent figures of the Vienna Secession movement.
Klimt’s work takes precedence in the collection’s main design philosophy. For instance, golden and black tones, and floral patterns on the Luna Piena pendant and the Aphrodite bracelet manchette were in clear reference to Klimt’s masterpiece, The Kiss, according to the report.
Other works of Klimt’s that inspired the jeweller included Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, Hope II and Wasserschlangen, among others, the report said.
