Sotheby’s is placing iconic diamond and coloured gemstone pieces in the limelight at its Important Jewels and Jadeite sale scheduled for November 28 in Hong Kong.

According to the auction house, the anticipated annual sale will showcase “a tasteful selection” of jewellery from renowned brands such as Van Cleef & Arpels’ “Flying Butterfly” diamond bangle and Cartier’s classical “Panthère” diamond, sapphire and emerald ring.

The Van Cleef & Arpels bangle is expected to sell for HK$470,000 to HK$620,000 (US$60,578 to US$79,912) while the “Panthère” ring is valued at HK$900,000 to HK$1.2 million (US$116,001 to US$154,668).

Other star lots include a sapphire and diamond ring by Bulgari, with a pre-sale estimate of HK$3.3 million to HK$4 million (US$425,337 to US$515,560).

Another highlight of the sale is a remarkable early 20th century diamond, ruby and onyx “Dragon” bracelet, adorned with an array of coloured gemstones, diamond and jadeite jewellery.

This piece is expected to fetch HK$640,000 to HK$800,000 (US$82,490 to US$103,112).

“The collection of colourful and unique pieces offered in this sale would make for perfect gifts for the upcoming festive season,” Sotheby’s noted.
