Trade show organizer Fiera di Vicenza unveiled on Wednesday the novelties of its fairs for the second semester of the year.
In particular, Fiera di Vicenza managing director Corrado Faccoannounced that starting from the upcoming edition, running Sept. 3 to 7, jewelry trade show Vicenzaoro will feature a new section dedicated to timepieces. Called NOW “Not Ordinary Watches,” this will include a range of independent watchmakers, such as Altanus Geneve, Brosway, Didofà, Gagà Milano, Ju’sto and Locman, among others.
In conjunction with the fair, Vicenza’s Jewelry Museum, which is controlled by Fiera di Vicenza, will debut a temporary exhibition named “Jewelry and Travel.” This will include the creations designed by the finalists of “Next Generation Jewellery,” a talent contest promoted by the trade show organizer and Milano Politecnico’s Design School. The winner of the contest will be announced on Sept. 3.
During the press conference, held at the Milan apartment ofMatteo Marzotto, president of Fiera di Vicenza, the museum’s director Alba Cappellieri announced that the new biannual exhibition at the venue will be inaugurated in September. This will comprise 400 jewels selected by a range of prestigious curators, such as New York’s MAD director Glenn Adamson and Van Cleef & Arpel chief executive officer Nicolas Bos. A special section will be dedicated to the late fashion editor Anna Piaggi with a selection of her jewels edited by her grandson Stefano Piaggi.
Fiera di Vicenza also announced that Origin Passion and Beliefs, the group’s trade show dedicated to manufacturers operating in the textile, jewelry, leather and technology businesses, will relocate to Milan to be held in conjunction with high-end textile fair Milano Unica, running Sept. 6 to 8 at Fiera Milano Rho.
“The strength of Origin Passion and Beliefs and this collaboration with Milano Unica is that it gives visibility to those silent, invisible companies contributing to the success of the Made in Italy,” Marzotto said.
This partnership between the two fairs is part of the project promoted by Carlo Calenda, the Italian Minister for Economic Development, to create cooperation with the different Italian players in order to boost the expansion of the Made in Italy in the world.
