UBM India Pvt Ltd recently launched the Tamil Nadu Retail Jewellers Awards (TN RJA) to recognise the outstanding efforts of individuals and organisations in the retail jewellery business in Tamil Nadu.
Winners were announced in early October at a ceremony held on the sidelines of the Gems and Jewellery India International Exhibition in Chennai.
Award categories include Design Excellence, Best Print Ad, Best Marketing Campaign, Store of the Year, Exemplary Customer Service and Best Retail Team of the Year, among others.
UBM India Managing Director Yogesh Mudras commented, “India is one of the largest gem and jewellery exporters, and this industry is vital to the Indian economy. Over the years, the biggest transformation that the sector has seen is the rise of retail players. Tamil Nadu as a state is a major contributor to India’s growth and the TN RJA is a valuable instrument to further inspire jewellery retailers and new centres of exemplary craftsmanship in the state.”
TN RJA’s jury included Sultan Mohideen, Sheeba Prince and Mukesh Jain.
More than 500 jewellery retailers, manufacturers and industry stakeholders were in attendance during the awards night. A fashion show was conducted on the sidelines of the ceremony. “The region has an enviable legacy in ornaments including Temple Nakshi jewellery, gemstone-studded jewellery and bridal jewellery such as Manga Malai, Kasu Mala and Pachi designs, and the audience got a glimpse of such glamour at the fashion show,” according to UBM India.
