Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor is one of our (and, let’s face it, the world’s) favourite style stars. The way she pairs exuberant prints and mixes things up is so inspiring.
For someone who’s come to be known for her soft, colourful outfits, Sonam’s latest photoshoot for a fashion magazine saw her wearing rather uncharacteristic head-to-toe black looks: From super-sexy waist-defining bustier and wide-legged trousers to sequinned, flapperesque, shimmy mini and a corset-taffeta-skirt-beret number. All in all a clean look with the pared-down colour palette and back-to-basics aesthetic.
With her bewitchingly good photoshoot for Vogue India’s November issue, Sonam proved that head-to-toe black is the easiest, most chic, most foolproof way to get dressed… and it’s actually cool. It gives you the opportunity to experiment with bold, graphic prints and patterns, just like Sonam, while keeping your look cohesive and cool.
If that’s not a sign all-black is a winning fashion decision, we don’t know what is.
Here are a few Sonam Kapoor looks, styled by celebrity stylist and costume designer, Anaita Shroff Adajania. Ladies, make your all-black ensembles stand out in a sea of sparkle by allowing the fashionable ladies to show you how to indulge in your darker side, while shining like a star.
