On the second day of Fashion Design Council of India’s India Couture Week 2017, designer Manav Gagwani showcased his collection called India @ 70. The creations were inspired by the art and indigenous embroideries of the many states of India.

Intricate embroideries on lush fabrics from all over India made it to Gangwani’s ramp.
From saris and floor-sweeping anarkalis to voluminous lehenga skirts — the silhouettes and cuts were aimed for a heavy-set bridal trousseau.
The garments ranged from layered drapes to anarkalis.
And, the colours ranged from deep jewel tones to a bright palette of wedding scarlets.

Ivories, ruby and bright reds also featured in the collection.
Peacock blues and greens also stood out.
