Sonam Kapoor chose classic red while Neha Dhupia picked summer pastels

Neha Dhupia And Sonam Kapoor: Two Punjabi Summer Brides In Two Different Looks

The month of May has definitely started on a high note, with wedding bells ringing full swing In Bollywood. After the wedding celebrations of Sonam Kapoor with longtime boyfriend Anand Ahuja, it was Neha Dhupia who surprised us all this morning by tying the knot with her best friend and Bollywood actor Angad Bedi. In what could be called as the most hush hush wedding affair of all-time, the couple successfully managed to keep their plans under the wrap and had a very intimate wedding ceremony at a Gurudwara in Delhi.

Neha Dhupia looked like a radiant summer bride dressed in a stunning Anita Dongre lehenga-choli in soft pink. It was designed with delicate floral embroidery and had a sheer dupatta with matching borders. She accessorised her wedding outfit with a heavy polki choker with emerald drops, matching jhumkas and maang tika, which were all from Anita Dongre’s jewellery line.

While Neha Dhupia kept with the current trend for pastel shades, Sonam Kapoor had gone all traditional and picked the classic red colour for her wedding trousseau, which was designed by Anuradha Vakil. She too heavily accessorised her look with traditional jewellery – a sarpech on her head, a gold choker, a raani haar and haath phool.

While both the bridal looks were beautiful and held their own right, we couldn’t help but have a soft corner for Neha Dhupia’s understated style. Her wedding look in fact reminded us of Anushka Sharma’s pastel pink wedding lehenga that was designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, which became the talk of the town for its delicate detailing and pastel hue.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that gone are the days when bright colours were a norm for to-be-brides. You can break tradition now and experiment with your bridal look, daring to be different. The again, if you want to stick to classics, you can always pick red and style your look like Sonam.
