Bollywood’s stars turned up to celebrate one of Bollywood’s most talented
Behind every beautiful actress is a makeup artist who brightens her eyes, smoothens her skin and gives her lips a pop of colour. The Bollywood film industry is filled with these beauty superheroes; one of the most renowned being Mickey Contractor. Today, Mickey is the MAC Director of Makeup Artistry in India and one of the most reputed makeup artists from the Hindi film and fashion fraternity.
Mickey has been a part of the MAC cosmetics family from the time it arrived in India and has been responsible for the beauty looks of celebrities like Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Kajol. So when Mickey celebrated 12 years of his tenure at MAC cosmetics, the event was a starry affair filled with many Bollywood celebrities he glammed up through the years. Take a look at some of the evening’s finest faces who came to celebrate Mickey Contractor.
Kajol is one of Mickey’s dear Bollywood buddies – he is responsible for her trademark unibrow – and so she turned up to celebrate the man of the moment in a blue one-shouldered dress with a ruffled sleeve and black pumps.
Madhuri Dixit opted for a classic LBD with sequin embroidery and a ruffled hem. Keeping it chic, Madhuri paired the look with black pumps, flowing locks and a red lip.
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan made a handsome couple in coordinated all-black looks while Ash peppered hers with silver embroidery and fiery red lips.
Sonali Bendre too made a rare appearance at the bash wearing a sheer mauve tiered gown which matched her burgundy locks and wine toned lip.
The ever stunning Sushmita Sen too looked ravishing in plenty of sequins over her blouse, ripped jeans and purse and finished it off with a bold lip and a large smile.
Looking lovely as ever, Dia Mirza turned up in a navy blue and red traditional fusion look. With it she wore a messy updo with loose strands, pink lips and matching navy nails.
Over the years, Mickey has been an inspiration for makeup artists all over the country. In Bollywood, he’s left his impression by creating the looks of Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela, Karisma Kapoor in Dil To Pagal Hai and even Kareena Kapoor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He’s also been the driving force behind many ad shoots, brand campaigns and magazine covers, like Kareena’s most recent one for Vogue. With a reputation as starry as that, we can only wait for what’s to come.
