The 29th June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fairpromises to meet every professional buyer’s diamond, coloured gemstone and pearl needs as the four-day trade show opens today at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. More than 2,200 jewellery manufacturers and gemstone suppliers from 41 countries and regions are displaying their latest collections of fine jewellery and loose gemstones at the four-day fair, according to trade show organiser UBM Asia Ltd. Manufacturers of jewellery tools and equipment are likewise displaying their goods. Occupying 70,000sqm of exhibition space, the event is strategically divided into 16 zones, making sourcing easier for buyers, added the organiser. A highlight of the June Hong Kong Fair are 17 group pavilions from Australia, Antwerp, Brazil, mainland China, Colombia, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the US and the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA). “This year, the ICA group pavilion is bigger with more exhibitors. The strong participation of group pavilions confirms the importance of the fair in this industry. Buyers can expect to see a range of quality opals from the Australian pavilion, emeralds from the Colombian pavilion, Akoya pearls from the Japanese pavilion, and more,” said Sunny Chan, deputy fair manager of Jewellery Fairs at UBM Asia. Buyers can also visit themed halls for specific product categories such as the Diamond Pavilion located in Halls 3B, C, D and E. It gathers 480 diamantaires from around the world. Exhibitors in the Diamond Pavilion are under the banners of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the Israel Diamond Institute. The Gemstone Pavilion, located in Halls 5E, F and G and concourses, hosts 501 gemstone suppliers. The fair also features the Hong Kong Premier Pavilion, which features the latest collections of 30 major jewellery brands from Hong Kong and the Fine Design Pavilion & Fine Gem Pavilion, a top destination for the world’s finest jewellery and gemstones where 80 globally renowned exhibitors are showcasing their products. The JNA Awards 2016 Press Conference, hosted byJNA, will also be held on June 23. The annual JNA Awards recognises innovation and excellence in the jewellery and gemstone industry, honouring companies and individuals for their contributions to the advancement of the trade and achievements made in Asia. A diamond auction by PJSC Alrosa is likewise scheduled for June 23 to 26. A seminar on synthetic diamonds and a book launch by GRS Lab (HK) Ltd will be held on June 25. Two shows, one venue The Mineral, Gem and Fossil Asia will be held concurrently at the Convention Hall of the HKCEC, according to UBM Asia. This all-in-one marketplace gives buyers the opportunity to source a wide range of rare mineral specimens, rough gemstones and fossils.
