HRD Antwerp is hosting an industry-wide symposium on relevant issues in the diamond, coloured gemstone and global jewellery markets, scheduled for September 26 in Antwerp, Belgium. The symposium, Inspired by Nature, will gather renowned speakers and experts in the gemstone and jewellery industry, according to HRD Antwerp. Pierre Cartigny, professor and research director at CNRS, Paris University, will talk about “DNA of diamond: Nitrogen and carbon isotopes” while Jim Pounds, executive vice-president of Dominion Diamond Corporation, will speak about “Canadian diamonds: From the ground up.” The topic “Baltic amber: Origin, deposits, properties and market” will be discussed by Dr. Ewa Wagner-Wysiecka, assistant professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland. Thanh Nhan Bui, a PHD student at the Louvain School of Engineering of the Université catholique de Louvain, will talk about “From exsolution to ‘Gold Sheen’: A new variety of corundum.” HRD Antwerp also announced that Philip De Cleen, a consultant in business strategy, marketing, communication and sales will share his views on diamond and jewellery marketing while stylist and designer Elke De Greef will speak about choosing the right colour, shape and style of jewellery. |
