Looks like 2018 is all about Deepika Padukone owning who she is. The Padmaavat actor is having an incredible start to the year with her powerful acting in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film getting applauded, her romance with frequent co-star and rumoured boyfriend, actor Ranveer Singh, going smoother than ever, and some new films in the works.
While she’s killing every angle of her professional and personal lives, it’s her fashion that has really made a turn for the best. The actor graces the cover of Vogue India’s February issue, titled ‘The Happy Issue’, where aside from gushing about Padmaavat, and opening up about mental illness and what she’s doing to promote a positive space for herself and others, she’s killing it sartorially. It’s hard to not notice the beautiful, fun photos in the accompanying shoot, where Deepika’s wearing daring colours and lots of it. (Yes, Deepika’s come a long way from her Om Shanti Om and Bachna Ae Haseeno days.)
In the fashion magazine spread shot by photographer Mazen Abusrour and styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, Deepika’s worn tight-fitting, skin-showing looks, as well as opted for some comfortable, easy-yet-stylish pieces. These were no everyday looks. Instead, these were look-at-me clothes, beautifully made for big personalities: Consider a long shiny shirt and matching peek-a-boo swimsuit; trousers done entirely in silver and blue sequin, and multi-colour striped dress edged in wispy fringe. Scroll on to see what we mean by taking a look at her best looks from the photoshoot.
Even as her thick, black eyeliner took centre stage, Deepika’s big, beachy waves upped the romance, giving her high fashion style a totally different, casual vibe.
Ladies, these are the Deepika looks that’re worth taking note of:

Deepika is no stranger to out-there fashion looks, but the neon fabric in contrast to her shimmery teal blue and green sequin-embellished trouser from Halpern truly brought this look to new heights. (Instagram/ vogueindia)
In another photo, Deepika chose a celestial floor-length gown by British label Ralph & Russo. The sweeping ruffle-edged dress in cornflower blue came in a sheer free-flowing silhouette. (Instagram/ vogueindia)
