An eclectic array of bespoke coloured gemstone and fancy colour diamond jewellery pieces is set to dazzle buyers at Tiancheng International’s Jewellery and Jadeite Autumn Auction 2016 scheduled for December 4.
The auction house is presenting more than 270 lots totalling nearly HK$200 million (US$26 million). Headlining the auction are exceptional ruby, sapphire, emerald and fancy colour diamond jewellery; some of the pieces are from celebrated brands such as Cartier, Harry Winston and Tiffany & Co.
Stewart Young, director of Tiancheng International’s Jewellery Department, commented, “Following last season’s success of coloured gemstones for which four world records were set, Tiancheng International is pleased to present a vast array of important coloured gemstones this autumn.”
Among the highlights of the sale is a 48.08-carat heart-shaped natural unheated Burmese “Pigeon’s Blood” ruby and diamond necklace by Harry Winston. The piece is valued at HK$20,000,000 to HK$30,000,000 (US$2,560,000 to US$ 3,850,000). Another star lot is a Cartier necklace with a 42.42-carat natural unheated Burmese “cornflower blue” sapphire and an 11.11-carat D-colour Type IIA diamond with a pre-sale estimate of HK$17,000,000 to HK$25,000,000 (US$2,180,000 to US$3,200,000).
Other exceptional offerings are a ring adorned with a 30.16-carat natural fancy vivid yellow VS1 clarity diamond centre stone, which is estimated to sell for HK$21,000,000 to HK$25,000,000 (US$2,700,000 to US$3,200,000); and a 36.15-carat cushion-shaped tsavorite, garnet and diamond ring by David Yurman. This ring is expected to fetch HK$3,000,000 to HK$4,000,000 (US$385,000 to US$513,000).
