Olivia Wilde attends the 71st Annual Tony Awards.

Trend

Blushed Cream Eyeshadow Actor Olivia Wilde always gets it so right and this red-carpet look at the recent Tony Awards in New York is no exception. Here, she shows off not one but two of the hottest beauty trends: the pretty rouge-hued eyeshadow that’s making her eye colour pop, and the sheer perfection of her sleek bob.

Cult Following

Named the No.1 skincare brand in the US last year, Rodan + Fields is built on the wizardry of two Stanford-trained dermatologists. Road Test

This week I try … false lashes
The lowdown I am with Tyler at Napoleon Perdis for a lesson on how to apply false lashes – a serious gap in my beauty skill-set. Tyler starts by measuring the width of my eye, and trims the falsies by 2mm – they’ll start to lift at the edges if they’re too long, apparently.

He coats the base of the falsies with liquid eyeliner to fill in any gaps before applying liner along my lash line, and then coats my real lashes with mascara for grip. Next comes the glue, which is applied in a strip to the back of my hand: the lashes are then dipped into this and allowed to set for 40 seconds. Now I apply the lashes as close to my lash line as possible, sticking the centre first and working outwards, securing them to my mascara-covered lashes. I then go over the lash line with eyeliner again to fill in any gaps.

Pain factor It will require a bit of practice but I’m willing – and, hopefully, able.

Downtime 30 minutes of concentration.

Results My lashes look lush and fluttery. If you’re careful, you’ll be able to use each set about eight times. Always remove falsies before bed using a non-oil-based make-up remover.
